BioWhy the secret 2nd journal?
I intend to use this journal to count calories, track progress, and find support to help me. Because, in the words of Marya Hornbacher, "20 pounds, I said. No matter what."
- Because I have something to hide.
- Because I don't want to argue about my reasons.
- Because I need a place to keep track of things, and the "private" posts feel too risky.
- Because I want to join support communities.
- I started a second journal without telling any of my friends because I want a place to be safe. A place to talk to other people who can't trust the ones they love with their awful secret: I hate my body. Not just a passing dislike. I hate these thighs, this cellulite, the soft and unformed belly, the pinched up part of the back of my arms.
